Alyssa Angeles grew up in Richfield, Minnesota. She started making music videos for herself and friends, and found the conjunction of film and music to be more powerful than each alone. She then went onto direct a documentary with artist Amanda Erickson following the creative process between eight strangers in the Twin Cities. The documentary brought her a milestone, but she still lacked a connection.

She then moved to Los Angeles to continue her study of film where she graduated from the New York Film Academy in 2020. While attending NYFA, she directed multiple shorts and a music video which premiered through Paper Magazine. She continues to explore her voice as a director.
